Tensions are rising in Enugu State as youths storm the streets in protest against the alleged k!lling of local musician Igbo Jah by a police inspector.

The inspector has been arrested, and a comprehensive investigation is underway, according to Enugu police spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe.

According to SaharaReporters, the protests have turned violent, with hundreds of residents marching to the anti-cult headquarters and attempting to burn it down.

However, police officers on the ground resisted the attempt, but protesters have blocked roads in parts of the state capital, including Onu Asata, where they are burning tires and chanting angry songs.

Meanwhile, police officers are shooting teargas at the youths protesting.

Burning tyres is a common form of protest, often used to express outrage and frustration. The smoke from the burning tires can be seen from afar, drawing attention to the cause.

In this case, the protesters are demanding justice for Igbo Jah’s murder.

The situation remains tense, with protesters demanding accountability for Igbo Jah’s murder.
