Actress Yvonne Jegede could not hold back her tears as she watched ailing legendary actor, Olu Jacobs.
The actor has been off movies for quite a while but was only recently seen publicly at the Africa International Film Festival Awards (AFRIFF), in Lagos looking quite frail.
In a an interview with renowned media personality, Chude Jideonwo, Silva disclosed that her husband is suffering from dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB).
The actress said that prior to the interview, she never discussed the illness publicly with anyone before the interview.
According to her, “This has been going on for a couple of years. My husband is dealing with issues and it’s been going on for a couple of years. It is known as Dementia with Lewy body.
“It is a degenerative disease that affects the brain and it is almost like a Parkinsons type of disease; it affects the brain and it affect the person.
“We have gone through it over the past couple of years but we thank God.
“We have gone through some times and situations recently that I wish I had the old you here so I don’t battle these times on my own but we are grateful for the moment of clarity. I miss the times we worked together. Joke Silva added.
Actress Yvonne Jegede was heartbroken when she saw someone she describes as an uncle who paved the way for upcoming actors like her.
