Some parents wept for joy while others were exceptionally excited to see their daughters again.

The girls said bandits arrived their hostels at about 1:00am shooting and shouting.

They took many of them on motorcycles while a few escaped.

The school girls walked many miles into the bush and were tortured if they felt weak and tired.

It appears the government was indeed set to receive them as they were all clad in newly sewn hijabs when they arrived the government house.

The government however, said that no ransom was paid for their release.
